In less than two weeks walkers will take to the track at Indian Springs Middle School in a fight against cancer.
The annual Relay for Life 24-hour walk-a-thon will take place Saturday, June 7 at 8 a.m. and continue until Sunday at 8 a.m.
This yearâs theme is âScare Away Cancer,â and promotes a Halloween-inspired event.
Currently, the event has raised more than 66 percent of its financial goal of $35,000. Twenty-one teams and 114 participants are signed up for the walk, but committee leaders said it is not too late to get involved.
âTeams of relayers can still sign up and participate in the event,â said Co-Chair Tammy Gross. âIndividuals are welcome too. There is a chance to register the day of the event as well.â
