A-OK: Turtle Days rides given the thumbs up by inspectors

June 21, 2013

CHURUBUSCO — After an electrical cable shorted out near midway carnival rides Thursday night, state inspectors were at Churubusco Town Park to investigate the scene at Turtle Days.

“The inspector said the cable that malfunctioned last night was not connected to any rides and was not in jeopardy of endangering any riders,” said Turtle Days Association President Greg Barkley. “The cable was for a light that shines on the rides.”

The midway will open as planned. Barkley said the issue was investigated by state inspectors and declared to meet with the standards set by the officials.
