Old Settler’s parade lining up for festival

COLUMBIA CITY — Old Settlers Day parade is presented by The Old Settlers Day Association and the Columbia City American Legion Post 98. The parade theme this year is, “The Heartland of America.”
The community is invited to participate in the Old Settlers Parade on June 30. The parade will start at 5 p.m. from Columbia City High School.
There is no entry fee for the parade. Entrants must complete, sign and date an entry form. Forms are available at
Completed forms can be mailed to the American Legion post 98 , 430 W Business 30, Columbia City, IN 46725 or to Ryan Kessler at 2559 N. Airport Rd., Columbia City, IN 46725. The deadline for parade entries is June 15.
Awards will be presented immediately following the parade at The American Legion. Unclaimed awards will be mailed to the party named on the entry form.
Prizes will be awarded as follows:
•Animal drawn units (carriages,wagons,etc.): 1st prize $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
•Antique Automobiles and Trucks 1985 and before: 1st $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
•Antique Tractors: 1st $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
•Color guards men’s: 1st $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
•Color Guard’s Women: 1st $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
•Floats-Commercial: 1st $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
•Float-Noncommercial: 1st $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
•High School Bands: 1st $100.00. 2nd $75.00, 3rd $50.00.
Mounted Units(Shrine,4-H,etc.): 1st $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
•Novelty Cars, Trucks & Tractors: 1st $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
•Novelty and Fun Units: 1st $50, 2nd $30 and 3rd $20.
