Onita Jean McSurley, 84, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 6:10 a.m. at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
Onita was born Sept. 3, 1928, in Dwale, Ky. to Jack and Emma (Ellis) Osborne. She and Loni McSurley were married Jan. 21, 1946, in Prestonsburg, Ky.
However, Onita lived most of her life in Kosciusko County. She was a packer for R.R. Donnelley and Sons Co. for 23 years before retiring in 1990.
Surviving relatives include two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary McShurley of Warsaw and Katherine (Jerry) Ziegler of Columbia City; two sisters, Pat Wallace of Fort Wayne and Rebecca Goble of Warsaw; a brother, William T. Osborne of Cochran, Ga.; two grandchildren, Mark (Becky) Ziegler of Cory and Kimberly Ziegler of Winona Lake and four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie G. Ziegler of Indianapolis and Emily, Anna and Nathan Ziegler.
Onita was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 4, 1992, and two brothers, Charles Osborne and an infant brother.
Family and friends gathered for a time of sharing Sunday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A service celebrating the life of Onita Jean McSurley took place today beginning at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Rick Stewart officiates. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
