Park Dept. preps pool for final year

COLUMBIA CITY — It’s the beginning of the end for Burnworth Memorial Pool in Columbia City.

Last year, officials announced that 2014 is expected to be the final summer for the pool, which has been part of the community for decades.

While Park Director Mark Green hates to see the summer fun spot go, repairs and upkeep on the pool have been more than the city’s budget can manage.
