COLUMBIA CITY â€” When a park at Tri-Lakes had to have its bathroom facilities shutdown due to a contaminated well, Whitley County Commissioners proposed a new owner for the property.
â€śThis is the only park still under the countyâ€™s umbrella,â€ť said Commissioner Don Amber at a recent meeting. â€śI guess I would rather see the township take it over.â€ť
After discussing the possibility of the park becoming the property of Thorncreek Township, its trustee, Gene Heckman, said there was interest from both his township board and the Tri-Lakes Association.
