Patricia Myers, 76

Patricia Elaine Myers, 76, a resident of Wolf Lake, died at 9:16 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne where she had been transported from Parkview Noble Hospital.
She was born Sept. 19, 1936, in Tazwell County, Illinois, a daughter of the late Merrill and Dorothy J. (Pierce) Wallace.
She began her schooling in Illinois. She continued her grade schooling at South Whitley. She completed her education at Wolf Lake High School graduating in 1954.
She was a U. S. Postal worker for 33 years, retiring as the Postmaster at Wolf Lake in 1991.
A community supporter, she was instrumental in the founding of Onion Days, a Wolf Lake annual event. She enjoyed camping and NASCAR. As a mother, she was actively involved with her children’s extra circular activities including Band Supporters and Scouting. After her retirement, she pursued her family’s genealogy.
Surviving relatives include a son, Anthony Alan (Sabrina) Myers of Columbia City; a daughter, Leah Beth (Rick) Myers Smith of Wolf Lake; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Stanley (Marsha) Wallace of Cromwell and a sister, Sherrill Day of Sidney.
She was preceded in death by her friend and former husband, Billy Joe Myers.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with the Rev. James Clifford, officiating. The visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
