PIERCETON â Numerous negative comments encircled Indianaâs ISTEP+ testing process when computer malfunctions upset the online assessment.
However, at Pierceton Elementary School, faculty and students celebrated some good news that came from the standardized test.
Ryan Brown, now a fourth grader at PES, achieved a perfect score on the test in the spring.
At Mondayâs school board meeting, much applause was given to the boy for his academic success.
âThis is the first time in my 30 years of teaching, that Iâve seen a perfect score in both the math and language arts portions,â said Steve Clason, Whitko Community School Corporation superintendent. âWe couldnât be more proud of Ryan.â
Nathan Polston, the principal at PES was equally impressed with Brownâs scores.
