SOUTH WHITLEY — Phase II of the waste water treatment facility project continues to prosper as project manager David Harvey with Fleis and Vandenbrink presented the South Whitley town council with partial payment application number three to Gerig-Ottenweller, who is the contractor for the project.
Fleis and Vandenbrink provides a wide-range of service for municipal, industrial, institutional, commercial and private development clients.
“I have partial payment application number three for Gerig-Ottenweller who is the contractor for the waste water treatment plant and it’s in the amount of $13,080,” Harvey said. “We had a progress meeting on Tuesday with the contractor and we are at the point where we are going to start doing color selection on the buildings out at the treatment plant as far as the blacktop, the shingles, doors and those type of things.”
Council President Tony Starkey questioned if the $13,080 was budgeted in the original quote.
“We had specified around a shingle roof and an alternate bid price they (Gerig-Ottenweller) provided in their bid from way back in October for a stain and seam metal roof,” Harvey said. With three bids received, Gerig-Ottenweller was awarded the Phase II project with a bid of $3,087,000 for the main project with an alternate bid of $27,000 for material revisions.
