FORT WAYNE – Phillip E. Mattingly Sr., died at 8:20 p.m. July 5, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 7, 1934, to James and Eunice Mattingly in Lexington, Ky.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving relatives include his daughters Linda Wallace, Brenda Kay Berkes, Eunice Lyons, and Sarah Berkley; sisters Mary Brooks and Ollie Alford; 17 grandchildren and 37 great–grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife Alma Jo Mattingly, parents, a son, and a brother, James Mattingly.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Timothy Grable, officiating.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p. m. Friday
Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
