Phone scam artists continue to call

COLUMBIA CITY — When a man sporting what local resident Nancy Souers calls a “heavy Spanish accent” called her house Friday afternoon, he soon found out that his attempt to fleece her out of a quick buck would be one tough sell.
“He called my house quite a few times,” Souers said Friday afternoon. “My caller I.D. said it was a private caller. I hung up on him the first time because I couldn’t understand him.”
