Phyllis Winebrenner-Dubea, 87

COLUMBIA CITY — Phyllis E. Winebrenner-Dubea, 87, formerly of Columbia City, passed away at 11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at her son’s home in rural Bluffton.
Born Jan. 27, 1924, in Liberty Mills, she was the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Calhoun) Fitch.
She was raised in Liberty Mills where she attended school.
Following her first marriage to Carl Winebrenner on July 29, 1941 in Paulding, Ohio, she and her husband established their home in Merriam.
In 1957, they moved their family to Columbia City. Since then she has lived in Topeka, Ligonier, Auburn, Garrett, Springfield, Mo., Pierceton and Bluffton.
Her second marriage was to Lloyd Dubea on Feb. 22, 1975 in Columbia City. She is a homemaker, wife and mother of ten children.
Survivors include her seven children, Carol Sue Cardwell of Nixa, Mo., Jerry (Sonja) Winebrenner of Columbia City, Larry (Margaret) Winebrenner of Bluffton; Shirley Snyder of Columbia City; Terry Winebrenner of Pierceton, Kathy (Steve) Woodward of Garrett, and Lisa (Terry) Dubea of Warsaw; one son-in-law, Don Bailey, Nixa, Mo.; one sister, Jean Verona of Hartford City; one brother, Robert Fitch, Florida; 52 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Carl Winebrenner, on July 7, 1974, second husband, Lloyd Dubea, in January 1986, daughter, Sharon Slagal, sons, Randy and Gerry Winebrenner, 2 grandsons, Jerry Winebrenner, Jr. and Todd Winebrenner, one granddaughter, five brothers and sisters, Ilenana Brandenburg, Peggy Walker, June Fitch and Bonnie Wilfong.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Fishburn and Brett Berlin officiating.
Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Winebrenner-Dubea to Family Hospice, Berne.
