Pink out: ’Busco volleyball hosts breast cancer awareness game, tops Lakeland

October 3, 2012

CHURUBUSCO — A successful team has the ability to perform as expected despite distractions and an opponent that is not playing at their level.
Tuesday night, the Churubusco Lady Eagle volleyball team played host to Northeast Corner Conference foe Lakeland.

The Lady Lakers have struggled this season, making it even more important for the Lady Eagles to maintain their focus.

The Lady Eagles also faced the added attraction of “Pink Out Night” to support breast cancer awareness. ’Busco was able to keep its focus, downing the Lady Lakers in three straight games 25-9,25-16 and 25-18.

With everything from a silent auction that continues through the week, to a Serving Contest and Chuck-A-Duck to provide funds for breast cancer awareness going on in between games, the Lady Eagles were still able to put together a solid effort.

The win raises the Eagle record to 13-8 overall and 5-4 in the NECC going into Thursday night’s game against Fairfield.
