Plow Day

Date
Saturday, September 18, 2010 - 9:00am

The 5th Annual Plow Day and Benefit is being planned to begin at 9 a.m., Sept. 18, rain or shine, at the Steve Sickafoose farm south of South Whitley on 105. Antique tractors and horse teams will plow over 160 acres of wheat stubble and horse-pulled wagons will take visitors to watch the plowing in the fields.
Activities include an Amish bake sale, craft demonstrations, apple-butter and cider-making, blacksmithing, and other arts, pony rides, etc. A full lunch with homemade desserts with soft-served ice cream will be available for a freewill donation.
This year’s donations will be given to assist Emma Hindbaugh, a five year-old, who has been taking treatments for rhabdomyosarcoma since she was three, and the other recipient will be Leah Schwartz who has been diagnosed for Juvenile Diabetes I and asthma.
New activities are being planned for the afternoon. For information, contact Steve and Beth Ann Sickafoose, 723-4762 or Don and Christine King, 723-4378.
