POISED TO PROTECT: Thorncreek’s fire dept. receives new truck

Dan Heckman, a volunteer firefighter and engineer with Thorncreek Township Fire Department, operates a light tower on top of the department’s new engine. The LED light is one of many amenities the new purchase can provide to aid at the scene of an emergency.

COLUMBIA CITY — Thorncreek Township has a gem parked in its fire station.
A new 2014 KME fire pumper and rescue truck was recently delivered and put into operation at the fire department.
