January 12, 2011

COLUMBIA CITY — One of the suspects in a case involving an alleged methamphetamine lab on Camden Drive in Columbia City is in custody.
Janel M. Creech, 36 was arrested by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday and booked in the Whitley County Jail on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and violating probation.
On Friday, the prosecutor’s office filed charges against Creech and Travis A. Wonderly, 21.
Police and emergency medical crews were called to the Creech/Wonderly residence at 730 Camden Drive on the morning of Jan. 3 regarding an unresponsive infant.
The infant was rushed to Parkview Whitley Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No charges have been filed in the baby’s death, but as a result of the 911 call, police found evidence of a meth lab.
The residence was condemned by Indiana State Police and the Whitley County Health Department.
The death of Taylor Creech is still under investigation with a decision on whether or not to file charges in her death pending the results of toxicology tests from her autopsy, according to Whitley County Coroner Scott Smith.
According to police, Wonderly is still at large.
