COLUMBIA CITY â Columbia Cityâs police department is looking to acquire new handheld radios for its police force and it has been given âthe green lightâ by city council to pursue the $180,000 upgrade.
Police Chief Michael Petersen â who also serves as the chairman of the cityâs Radio Committee â inquired at Tuesday nightâs session of Columbia Cityâs City Council if the city had an available funding source so the committee can begin the process of planning, budgeting and acquiring the radios.
