Police seeking two wanted on drug charges

January 10, 2011

COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office reported this morning that no arrests have been made yet in the case relating to the death of a five-month-old girl Jan. 3 in Columbia City.
On Friday, the prosecutor’s office filed charges relating to the manufacture of methamphetamine against Travis A. Wonderly, 21 and Janel M. Creech, 36. Arrest warrants have been issued for the pair.
Both suspects were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class B Felony, maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D Felony and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Members of the Columbia City Police Department heading up the investigation into the death of Taylor Lynn Creech could not be reached for comment this morning.
Police and emergency medical crews were called to the Creech/Wonderly residence at 730 Camden Drive on the morning of Jan. 3.
The infant was rushed to Parkview Whitley Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No charges have been filed in the baby’s death, but as a result of the 911 call, police found evidence of a meth lab.
The residence was condemned by Indiana State Police and the Whitley County Health Department.
The death of Taylor Creech is still under investigation with a decision on whether or not to file charges in her death pending the results of toxicology tests from her autopsy, according to Whitley County Coroner Scott Smith.
Smith said last week those test results could take weeks to come back.
He could not be reached for comment this morning.
