POOL SURVEYS: Available at upcoming Fall Festival

September 13, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — As of Tuesday’s Columbia City Council meeting, Mayor Ryan Daniel said the city has received more than 70 surveys concerning Burnworth Memorial Pool. With feedback rolling in, the city plans to obtain even more opinions at the upcoming Fall Festival.
“That’s really taken off right now,” said Park Director Mark Green. “We’re getting a lot of feedback and that’s what we’re after, to kind of get what people are thinking about that topic.”
According to Green, surveys are currently available online at the city’s website and the park’s website, with paper surveys available at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office in City Hall or at the Park Office at Morsches Park, but as the city continues collecting feedback, they will also make surveys available at the Fall Festival, which runs Sept. 21-22.
The surveys will be accepted until Oct. 6, and by December, Daniel has asked the Park Board to make a decision on the opening or closing of Burnworth Pool for the 2013 year. “In the beginning of 2013, we’ll know a general direction as to where the Park Board would like to go with aquatics,” said Daniel.
