PIERCETON — Whitko Community School Corporation welcomed the newest administrator to its education team Monday night.

Nathan Polston will take the helm at Pierceton Elementary School as the new principal.

Polston’s position was voted on by the Board of Trustees during the July 3 work session.

“It’s exciting to have Nathan on board,” said Superintendent Steve Clason. “He comes to us with great credentials. He is just what Pierceton needs to go to the next level.”

This will be Polston’s first administrative position. Previously he was an elementary teacher at Leesburg Elementary.

Polston and his wife, Krista, reside in Warsaw and are expecting their first child in August. She is a special education teacher with Warsaw Community School Corporation.

While serving in the Warsaw district, Polston worked to create a “highly successful” learning community. He coordinated a reading program at Leesburg, chaired the Safety Committee, coordinated a family involvement event, and assisted in developing curriculum.
