COLUMBIA CITY â After holding two public forums and opening up an online survey concerning the Burnworth Memorial Pool, Mayor Ryan Daniel said the preliminary responses are leaning toward a new aquatics facility.
âWe have 249 responses, which I think is a pretty good response rate up to this point,â said Daniel. âWe have until Oct. 6, thatâs the last day that we are accepting those responses so Iâll close it at that point.â
An assessment on the pool estimated over $1.1 million dollars in repairs to the pool facility.
Daniel told the Columbia City Common Council Tuesday that he would let them know final results and where the public officially stands based on those responses by the councilâs next meeting Oct. 9.
With the publicâs responses leaning toward a new aquatics facility, Daniel said there are many people who believe it should be paid for with a bond.
âWith that being said, there is still time for responses,â said Daniel.

Paper surveys are available at the Clerk-Treasurerâs Office in City Hall or at the Park Office at Morsches Park.
