COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s football team will be looking to put a two-game losing streak in the rearview mirror this Friday.
Unfortunately for the Eagles (3-4, 2-3), they will be playing their third ranked opponent in as many weeks — Carroll.
The Chargers are ranked 12th in Class 6A, according to the Associated Press. Carroll beat Homestead 51-34 last week for its first win over the Spartans since 2003.
For Columbia City, it lost to East Noble last week, 31-7. Making this week’s battle with Carroll more challenging is the fact that Friday’s contest, which has a 7 p.m. kickoff, is at Carroll.
Columbia City fell to Carroll in 2012 by a final score of 20-6. The last win for the Eagles in the rivalry was a 31-7 win in 2011.
Overall, Columbia City is 7-6 on the gridiron against Carroll from the year 2000 to present. Last year’s loss to the Chargers was the first for the Eagles since 2007.
