COLUMBIA CITY â€” Residents of Whitley County who are registered to vote in their district of residence may begin absentee voting April 9. According to Jessica Hockemeyer of the Whitley County Clerkâ€™s Office, the Election Office is now accepting applications. Ballots will be mailed out beginning on March 23.
Absentee voting will take place at the Whitley County Clerkâ€™s Office in the courthouse at 101 W. Van Buren Street in Columbia City. The clerkâ€™s office is located on the second floor, room 18.
The office will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturdays, April 14, 21, 8 a.m. to noon; Saturdays, April 28 and May 5, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Monday, May 7, 8 a.m. to noon will be the final opportunity for absentee voting.
Voters do not need a reason to absentee vote if doing so in person at the clerkâ€™s office.
