Ralph E. Wall, 87, of Columbia City, died at 6:50 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at his home.
He was born Nov. 5, 1926 in Celina, Ohio a son of Ermine S. and Nora (Miller) Wall.
As a young boy, the family moved to Jefferson Township. He graduated from Jefferson Center High School.
On Nov. 24, 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Asiatic Pacific during World War II.
He was honorably discharged July 29, 1946.
He retired from International Harvester in 1985.
On Jan. 30, 1949, he was united in marriage to Marilyn J. Wilson.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Marilyn; a daughter, Sindy (Doug) Blaugh of Columbia City; two granddaughters, Holly (Chad) Fry and Ashley (Nathan) Western Maynard; two great-grandchildren, Connor Myles Fry and Peyton Renee Fry; and a sister, Helen Fox of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Wall.
There will be no visitation or service.
Preferred memorials are to American Heart Fund or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Services.
