Ranae Garber, 54

Ranae Sue (Curtis) Garber, 54, of Pierceton, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, on the first full day of spring. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed away after a six-month battle with melanoma.
She was born in Warsaw to Gale and Sue (Utter) Curtis on April 27, 1959.
On June 28, 1980, she married Frank D. Garber Jr, who survives.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1977, and Grace College in 1991. She taught at Harrison Elementary School in Warsaw for more than 20 years and attended Warsaw First Brethren Church for much of her adult life. More recently, she attended Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebekah Garber of Pierceton and Chasity (Mike) Delashmutt of Sterling Heights, Mich.; one son, Benjamin (Stephanie) Garber of Carmel; six grandchildren; one sister, Angie (John) Strayer of South Whitley; and one brother, Chad Curtis of Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A celebration of Ranae’s life is planned for 11 a.m Saturday at Harrison Elementary School. Cards, photos and stories are appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorials to be made to Warsaw First Brethren Church, 1318 E. Center St., Warsaw, IN or Harrison Elementary School, 1300 Husky Trail, Warsaw, IN.
