Rate increase discussed for water utility

COLUMBIA CITY – Rosy Oshry of O.W. Krohn & Associates and Mike Dear, superintendent of the Columbia City Water Department, met before the city’s common council meeting Tuesday to propose filing a small utility rate case with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC), the fact-finding body that hears evidence in cases filed before it and makes decisions based on the evidence presented in those cases. Utility rates that can be allowed are governed by the IURC.
