Ray Mullins, 71, of rural Columbia City, died at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, where he was admitted April 3, 2014.
He was born June 28, 1942, in Gage, Ky., a son of Tom and Reva (Jackson) Mullins. His formative years were spent in Breathitt County. In 1962 he moved to Columbia City.
A retiree of Fibre Form, he was a member of New Hope Wesleyan Church.
Surviving relatives include two children, Peggy Sue Mullins of Fort Wayne and Danny Ray Mullins of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jessica Shearer, Matthew Gies and Zachary Fry; a great-granddaughter; three sisters and three brothers, Wanda Ritchie of Columbia City, Melvin Mullins of Columbia City, Wilma Lee Howard of Kentucky, Alvin Mullins of Kentucky, Ola Mullins of Columbia City and Norma Jean Back of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Delmar Mullins and a sister, Margie Green.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Stough Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
