READING REWARDS: South Whitley library applaudes readers

April 23, 2014

Kathy Block won a Pamper Yourself Prize of a yoga mat, spa products, Dove chocolates, and a book bag at the South Whitley Public Library's Hot Reads for Cold Nights reading program.

Adult patrons were invited to participate during the long, bitter winter. Participants chose and read books just as they normally would, but then they logged and rated them on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. Each book earned a ticket for a chance to win a prize, and every five books was rewarded a chocolate Hershey’s kiss.

Readers can stop by the library to see the books that rated 4 or 5 stars, which all are available for checkout. The library’s book sale will be Friday and Saturday during the annual South Whitley garage sale weekend. If there are any books left after the weekend, the sale will continue April 28 through May 2.
