There were a lot of unknowns when Whitko’s distance team came into the track and field season.
Not knowing what they truly had on their hands, the Wildcat foursome of Brian Menzie, Jude Stieglitz, Brody Wilson and Trapper Mize began to see signs of something special.
“I never thought it was going to be our best event because they are all better long distance guys,” Whitko distance coach Mike McKeighen said. “I told them before the season if they got under 8:20 we’d focus on it. Then they hit the school record for the first time at Concord.”
