REMC offers some answers on outage

February 7, 2014

WHITLEY COUNTY (Feb. 7, 2014) -- Michael DeFreeuw, director, marketing and communications representative for Northeastern REMC, announced that outage updates can be found on Northeastern REMC’s Facebook page.

According to DeFreeuw, at 9:30 a.m., approximately 2,000 REMC members of the original 7,200 affected throughout Whitley County remain without power.

"Northeastern REMC is working to restore power as quickly as possible," DeFreeuw said. "The cause of the outage is a problem with an American Electric Power (AEP) transmission line feeding REMC substations."
