Rentschler seeking reelection as prosecutor

April 7, 2014

COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County Prosecuting Attorney Matthew J. Rentschler has announced his campaign for reelection to the position he has held for the past 12 years.

“I have devoted my career to enforcing our laws in a way that keeps Whitley County safe,” Rentschler said. “I was raised in Whitley County, I went to school in Whitley County. Now my children are going to Whitley County schools. It is paramount and personal to me that our community is safe, and I have tailored my prosecutions to that goal.”

Rentschler was first elected Prosecuting Attorney in 2002 on the Republican ticket. He has been reelected in 2006 and 2010.

He has successfully prosecuted more than 10,000 criminal cases in Whitley County.
