COLUMBIA CITY — Republicans from Whitley County held a caucus for party reorganization Saturday.
Voting for party leaders only happens once every four years, so for Chairman Matt Boyd, this was a first.
After the votes were tallied, all positions remained the same. Laurell Hodges is vice-chairwoman, Neil Hanni is treasurer, Paul Zilz is secretary and Matt Boyd continues as the chairman.
“Thank you for all your support,” Boyd said. “This has been more work than I thought, but it’s been rewarding.”
Boyd applauded the efforts of those re-elected to their positions.
“This is a great team to work with,” said Boyd. “This is a great group of Republicans. We have a united party and not a lot of internal strife like some parties do. For that I am thankful.”
During the breakfast, Republicans in attendance were given a county government report by County Commissioner Tom Rethlake.
