Residents spout off on possible water sale
SOUTH WHITLEY — It was standing-room only in the South Whitley Town Council chambers for a public hearing held Tuesday night. Residents came to learn more about the possible sale of the town’s water utility.Poor water quality and the need for infrastructure upgrades had prompted the council to look at funding alternatives. Selling the utility would mean costly upgrades and maintenance expenses would become the burden of the buyer, not the town.
