Richard Lohmeyer, 85

Richard Elmer Lohmeyer, 85, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010 at Renaissance Village. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He worked at Old Crown Brewery and for the Indiana State Highway Department. He was a 50-year member of American Legion Post 98 in Columbia City and also a 50-year member of Columbia City Lodge 189, F. & A.M. and Mizpah Temple.
Survivors include daughters, Cherrie Lohmeyer of Fort Wayne and Kathy (Tim) Landis of Columbia City; grandchildren, Kristy (Craig) Myers and Bradley (Elizabeth) Landis; and great-grandchildren, Corbin and Sienna.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet and sister, Mary Ferguson.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road in Fort Wayne. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Preferred memorials are to The Chapel or the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
