Richard W. Stang , 73, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Bethlehem Woods Rehab Center in Fort Wayne.
Born in Elyria, Ohio, Richard worked as a union carpenter with Local 232 for 20 years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and fishing.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Theresa Landis Stang of Fort Wayne; daughters, Kim (Tom) Krueck of Miamisburg, Ohio, Kelley Miller of Dallas, Texas; son, Troy Stang of Dallas, Texas; step-children, Angela Ingram and Scott Trigg, both of Fort Wayne; brother, Charles (Eldoris) Stang Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Hannah, Natalie, Cordelia, Simone, Alexandria, Gabrielle Sara and Zachary.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Stang; and sister, Mary Ellen Laskay.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd. with calling one hour prior.
Calling will also be Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nine Mile Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
