ROAD WORK: Improvements expected when project finished

August 1, 2013

South Line Street has been closed for several projects this summer. Water main work is being done below the surface, and above ground work is being done on sidewalks, curbs and repaving the street. Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel said the street will be closed intermittently between now and the end of August. The mayor hoped the project would be finished before the end of the month, but some of the work is dependent on contractor schedules, so he was unsure of a finish date. “We know this can be frustrating for our residents,” Daniel said. “But once it is over, hopefully citizens will appreciate the hard work and improvements that will be the end result.”
