ROBBERY TRIAL SET: Alleged drug store robber to face trial

COLUMBIA CITY — A Westville man accused of robbery and theft will have his trial in Nov. 19.

Troy Fritz, 31, was arrested in January for crimes that allegedly occurred at Walgreens in Columbia City.

He waived his right to have trial within six months of his arrest in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday.

Case reports state Fritz allegedly stole Opana and Fentanyl by threatening the pharmacist in February of 2012.

Robbery is a Class C felony and theft a Class D felony. The maximum total sentence for these crimes is 11 years of incarceration. Oct. 28 will be the final pretrial date for Fritz.
