Robert Braden, 82

Robert E. Braden, 82, formerly of Burr Oak, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City, where he had been a resident since August 2006.
He was born April 16, 1931, in Noble County, a son of Robert S. and Eldora V. (Coverstone) Braden. His formative years were spent in Noble County. He graduated from Wolf Lake High School.
On June 11, 1952, he was inducted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War until his honorable discharge May 26, 1954.
He was employed at International Harvester for 32 years and Crop Production Services in Brimfield for 18 years.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sandy (Kent) Gerver of Wawaka; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Treece of Columbia City and Dorceil Strader of New Haven.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Braden; and a brother, Paul Braden.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation one hour prior. The burial will be in Stringtown Cemetery.
