Robert Martin Hine, 95, died at Coventry Meadows April 22, 2013. He was a lifetime resident of Jefferson Township in Whitley County and son of the late Gustave and Myra Hine.
Robert worked at Coil Eng. in Roanoke and Dana Ft. Wayne for 33.5 years.
He liked gardening, mowing, the Colts, Indiana basketball and senior tours. Robert served in the U.S. Army 4.5 years in the 192nd Headquarters company and 38th Cyclone division receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and other metals from New Guinea and the Philippines.
He was a member of American Legion Post 160, Roanoke and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Marcene (McCaughey) Hine; daughter, Cheryl Hine; son, Edward (Cindy) Hine; grandson, Kevin Hine; sister, Genevieve Fraizer; brother, John (Evelyn) Hine and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main St., Roanoke with calling an hour prior to service.
There will also be calling Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne.
