Robert Teusch, 81

COLUMBIA CITY — Robert E. Teusch, 81, of rural Columbia City, died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne where he was admitted Nov. 9.
He was born Dec. 20, 1929, in Huntington County, a son of Edward J. and Odelia (Ness) Teusch.
His formative years were spent in Jefferson Township and Union Township. He graduated from Jefferson Center School.
From Feb. 7, 1951, until Jan. 8, 1953, he served in the U.S. Army.
On Jan. 21, 1956, he was united in marriage to Marilee J. Miller.
They always made their home together in Jefferson Township, moving to their present home in 1968.
He was employed 43 years at Dana Weatherhead, retiring in 1991.
His memberships included St. Catherine Catholic Church and American Legion Post #98.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 55 years, Marilee; two sons, Philip E. (Lisa) Teusch of Fort Wayne and Dennis A. (Sally) Teusch of Lafayette Colo.; six grandsons, Stephen, Michael, Ryan, Kevin, Andrew and Alexander Teusch; and a sister, Maxine Lott of Columbia City.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Nix Settlement, 9989 S. State Road 9, Columbia City.
The burial will be in the church cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Preferred memorials are to St. Catherine Catholic Church or masses.
