Robert W. “Bubba” Brown, 32, of Albion, passed away at 2:57 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at his residence. Born May 24, 1978 in Columbia City, he was a son of Dennis Brown and Kathi Boyer-Meyer.

A lifetime resident of Whitley and Noble counties, he attended Whitko High School. He was a mechanic and general handyman, but his favorite job was being “dad” to his son.

Survivors include his mother, Kathi Boyer-Meyer of Albion; father, Dennis Brown of Columbia City; son, Chase Michael Brown of Albion; sisters, Tara (Christopher Watkins) Boyer and Karri Brown of Cowpens, S.C.; and his niece, Madison Elizabeth Denise Brown, also of Cowpens.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Leon Meyer; maternal grandparents, Robert “Doc” and Mabel Boyer; and fraternal grandparents, William and Ilah Brown.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Lois Cannon of West Point Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Kendallville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the final expense account c/o DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Visit to send the family condolences or sign the guest register book.
