Sept. 25, 1938 â€” Aug. 4, 2014
Roberta J. Meagher, 75, of Columbia City, passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Born Sept. 25, 1938, in Wolf Lake, she was the daughter of Marshall and Doris (Mace) Wolfe.
Roberta graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1956, and received an associateâ€™s degree from Virginia Beach Community College.
On Jan. 1, 1956, she married Larry W. Meagher. She had worked at Ralston Purina. She was a member of the Columbia City VFW, American Legion and Eagles.
She was a lifelong avid reader who loved to shop and go to the movies, Florida and the oceans. She was known for her wit and great sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her family members. She will be remembered as one that loved to dance and being the life of the party.
Survivors include her daughters, Tamara L. (David) Dyson of Columbia City, Sonja L. (Jake) Wink of Toronto, Canada and Katheia L. Tucker of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Michael L. Meagher of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Sally Souder of Saint Louis, Mo. and Lana (Richard Hull) Hendry of Columbia City; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A memorial gathering will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Meagherâ€™s memory to the National Kidney Foundation.
