Roger A. Cooper, 65, Huntington, passed away at 9:36 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Parkview Huntington Hospital, Huntington.
Mr. Cooper was born July 2, 1947, in Wolf Lake, to Robert and Elizabeth Mae Orcutt Cooper. His parents preceded him in death.
Roger graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1966. He joined the U.S Navy after high school. He was currently retired from Wal-Mart as an assembler.
Surviving relatives include stepmother, Dortha Mae Marsh of Columbia City; one son, Matthew A. (Amber) Cooper of Huntington; two daughters, Trinity J. Cooper of Huntington and Stephanie (Joshua) Smith of Huntington; three brothers, Jerry (Charlene) Cooper of Fort Wayne, Chuck Cooper of Columbus, Ohio and Steve (Jeanine) Gradeless of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Carol (Bill) Foster of Reno, Nev., Cindy (Dale) Conner of Illinois, and Lynn Wood of Fort Wayne; and nine grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Cooper.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington.
A private service will follow at a later date. A private burial at Green Hill Cemetery, Columbia City, will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family of Roger Cooper in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington.
