Rongos, Baugher stay alive in boys tennis

WARSAW â€” Though the season wrapped up for many tennis players in Indiana Wednesday night, Whitkoâ€™s Tyler Baugher and Columbia Cityâ€™s Niko Rongos are keeping their postseason hopes alive, after picking up No. 1 singles wins in the opening round of sectional action.
Though Rongos and Baugher are still in action, their teams arenâ€™t. Rongos and Baugher picked up their teamâ€™s lone points.
Columbia City fell 4-1 to Tippecanoe Valley Wednesday and the Wildcats dropped a 4-1 match to the defending sectional champs, Warsaw.
Baugher beat his Warsaw opponent 6-4, 6-4, and will be advancing to the regional.
Rongos took a three-set win against Tippy Valley, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
