Rosalie Warner, 89

Rosalie Charlotte Warner, 89, of Columbia City, passed away at 10:02 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
Born on June 23, 1924, in Vevay, she was the daughter of Thomas James and Dora Ellen (Poling) Scroggin.
She lived in Switzerland County (Vevay) then moved to Fort Wayne, in 1984 and moved to Columbia City in 2009. She attended St. Mary’s Vevay Madison Consolidated Schools.
On Sept. 12, 1944, she married Charles Rae Warner in Battlecreek, Mich.
She was a foster grandparent and a van driver for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Fort Wayne.
Surviving relatives include her children, Carolyn A. (Rex) Rutter of Osgood; Barbara R. (Donald) Scudder of Vevay; Denise N. (Charles) Warner of Arcola; Greta L. (Pat) Connel of Valencia, Calif.; Joetta C. Drobek of Leo; Becky Ruth Ross of Columbia City; Harriet (Donald) Hathaway of North Manchester; Paul T. Warner of Bennington; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Rae Warner; daughters, Jaunita J. Smither and Marilyn S. Coy; three grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Orville, Wallace, Norman and Thomas Scroggin, Pearl Duning and Lavona Alexander; half-brothers and half-sisters, Grover Scroggin, Tida Pettitt, Blanche Levell and Leora Clemens.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with a committal service at 3 p.m. at Vevay Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Warner’s to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
