COLUMBIA CITY â Speaking this week at Columbia Cityâs Rotary Club was Questa representative Marc Levy.
Questa is a Northeast Indiana foundation set up to do principally two things: reduce the typical studentâs loan debt after finishing college, and keep that individual in Northeast Indiana ,contributing to the educational job force in our part of the state.
âThe average student in Indiana leaves college with a four-year degree and $27,000 in debt,â Levy said. âOften times, they will leave the area to find suitable work,â he added.
The Questa Foundation hopes to help by setting up a debt-reduction program that includes incentives for students to stay in the area once they graduate.
Students who qualify are able to get up to a 50 percent reduction of a Questa $20,000 loan over a four- year program.
Assuming the typical student leaves college with $27,000 in debts, this loan can significantly reduce that burden that the new graduate has to carry out into the work force.
