Ruby Mae Hite, 95, of Columbia City and formerly of Huntington, passed away Friday Feb. 14, 2014, at 10:10 p.m. at her sonâ€™s home in Waynesboro, Tenn. She was a homemaker.
Ruby was born March 1, 1918, in Wabash, the daughter of Horace and Sarah Fay (Shultz) Winkler.
On Sept. 19, 1936, she married Elmer Gayle Hite in Plymouth and he passed away Jan. 28, 1991.
She is survived by a son, Jerry L. (Donna) Hite of Waynesboro, Tenn., two daughters, Velma Kramer of Huntington and Sally Hetrick of Angola, 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Letha Rhea of Seattle, Wash., and a stepbrother, Roy Frantz of Florida.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Joyce Hite, two brothers Willis Winkler and Clyde Winkler, and a stepsister Waneta Kindler.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Deal-Rice Funeral Home-Huntington Chapel.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery.
