Ruth M. Zollinger, 89, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Hamilton House.
Born June 25, 1923, in Ft. Wayne, Ruth worked at L. S. Ayresâ€™ Tea Room. She was a member of St. Patrickâ€™s Catholic Church in Ft. Wayne and loved baking Christmas cookies.
Surviving relatives include three sons, John Zollinger of Ft. Wayne, Richard (Cindy) Zollinger of Columbia City and Jim (Beverly) Zollinger of Ft. Wayne; two daughters, Linda (Larry) Craighead of Ft. Wayne and Carol (Dan) Rosswurm of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Erwin; parents, Edward and Clara Bangert; infant son, Thomas Zollinger; brothers, Robert, Edward and Paul Bangert; sister, Gerry Arnett and daughter-in-law, Ann Neuenschwander Zollinger.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave. with calling one hour prior. Msgr. Richard Zollinger will be officiating.
Calling will also be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
