Savannah B. Lepley, 95, of Columbia City, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor in Columbia City.
Born Oct. 13, 1918, in Whitley County, she was the daughter of Lewis and Anna (Rhodes) Jones.
She graduated from Pierceton High School with the Class of 1936. After graduation, she married Guy Lepley.
Savannah worked at the Sears store off Rudisill Blvd. in Fort Wayne for more than 25 years, retiring in 1994. She is a member of Westfield Presbyterian Church and Calvary Third Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Beverly â€śAnnâ€ť (Keith â€śEdâ€ť) Henley of Columbia City; son, Joe (Nila) Lepley of Columbia City; sisters, Donna Hahn of Winona Lake and Shirley Kreger of Warsaw; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Helen Mielke, Hanna Waterson, Maxine Gebert, Nelle Gordon, Betty Wolfe and Naomi Phebus; and brother, Hayden Jones.
Visitation will be held Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. David Arnold officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne.
Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Lepleyâ€™s to the Columbia City United Methodist Church.
