Schinbeckler sisters successful at state sheep show

August 30, 2013

INDIANAPOLIS — The Schinbeckler sisters, Eryn and Kyra, had a strong showing at the Indiana State Fair in early August.
Eryn, 17, and Kyra, 11, took home several championship banners against the top animals in the state.

Their showmanship skills come as no surprise, as Eryn was the 2013 Whitley County 4-H Sheep Showman of Showmen.

On Aug. 4, after two days of competing against more than 800 head of sheep at the state fair, the sisters brought home four grand champion/reserve grand champion awards.

Eryn swept the Market Lamb Classes, taking home both Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion.

Kyra showed the Champion Shropshire Market Lamb, Fifth-place Overall Market Lamb and Reserve Champion Suffolk Market Lamb.

The girls stayed an extra week at the state fair in Indianapolis to show off their champion animals.
